Hey, You Guyyyyys!!!
This news deserves a special post.
Has everyone seen that PBS is bringing back The Electric Company? There may even be a guest appearance by Rita Moreno. And they'd be nuts to not at least ask Morgan Freeman.
I'm sure the new show won't be anything like it used to be, but I hope it makes it and Clare gives it a chance. I'm all excited thinking that we can actually watch a show directed at her age group and not one for toddlers or pre-teens. But what are the chances that she'd actually want to watch something like that?

Was that the show with Electra Woman & Dyna Girl? or was that Zoom....
Man, I'm getting old
i think Electra Woman & Dyna Girl were their own deal.
oh, and my wife won't be happy about this. I think Electric Company might be her least favorite show from childhood.
I had to Google that, but now that I see the picture I remember them. Wikipedia says that they were on the Krofft Supershow and only lasted sixteen weeks. I guess we were watching TV at the right time...or watching constantly.
Was Electric Company the last kids show before PBS programming swtiched to grown up shows (ie. Hunter Brinkley report)? I think it was always on at dinner time too. Or was that Zoom? What's the one where they sang the zip code?
zip code song was Zoom no doubt, and I remember it being the last show before grown up shows at least here in Boston. But who knows.
Morgan Freeman will not do it. He hates to be reminded of his time as Easy Reader.
The only thing I am willing to wager, is when you finally see it... you will think... "This sucks"
Such is the way when they try to revive old things.
I've always felt that I had a secret "in" with Morgan Freeman when I watched him soar to stardom because I could say, I used to watch him on Electric Company. I felt the same about Meg Ryan because as I got older, I watched her on "As the World Turns." Sadly, neither of them have called to tell me they felt the same connection to me.
KEEP BELIEVING
PG is right. The sung zip code was Zoom -- 02134.
John: I didn't realize that. I guess they shouldn't ask him.
Jay: You're probably right.
Angie: I'm sure they'll call soon. Maybe Rita Moreno will call me. She was kind of a star before TEC though, wasn't she? Maybe just on Broadway and in West Side Story though. I should check my own link to IMDB.
My favorite part was Spidey! Yeah, I think she would watch it if they made it as fun as the original. My worry: Will it be remotely as clean as it was the first time around? Most remakes aren't as good as the originals, but here's hoping for the best!
I LOVED the Electric Company. We're definitely checking this out!
Man, why can't I remember this show. It's like I'm supposed to but I can't recall it.
Spidey, the Blue Beetle, I'm bad, I'm badder, I'm the baddest... loved that show.
I too liked the Spiderman skits.
Wow! That's cool.
I hope they don't ruin it like Star Wars.
They always seem to screw up a good memory.
No way...I hadn't heard that they were going to bring this back...talk about blast from the past. I will have to check this out and see if it on the docket for our PBS affiliate!
